On Trend: The S-Curve Table

by Benjamin Keys

We were just recently painting at the wedding of a wedding planner.  And when a wedding planner is the bride you can expect the most PIN-worthy wedding!  One of our favorite details about the reception was her S-Curve table formations.  The reception was intimate with about 40 guests.  Two curved tables were set facing one another in the middle of the room with round table tops surrounding them.   This actually filled the room beautifully, giving it an interesting and welcoming feel.  Space is key in pulling off this formation, but when it works it adds the most creative touch!  I would love to hear thoughts from other wedding planners, photographers, and even guests who have enjoyed this creative seating arrangement!  Is this a LOVE or a LET GO?

On Trend: {Paper} Wall Flowers

by Benjamin Keys

It was last year during Bridal Market at the Martha Stewart Party that I first saw a huge wall of couture paper flowers used as a backdrop.  You know, only Martha would have the most LUXE Photo Booth backdrop!  We couldn't WAIT to have our photo taken in front of that beautiful wall of flowers.  You must see it to believe it.  Each flower was about 1-2ft in size and hand crafted.    And then I saw this concept again, at a wedding we were painting recently at The Breakers,  Sara of Sara Renee Events used a paper flower wall as the stage backdrop, which the band stood in front of as they performed.  It was an incredible center-statement-piece.  {Go to Sara Renee Even't Blog now and check out her insanely creative weddings ... she holds nothing back when it comes to all-things-luxe-gorgeous.}  If you want to create a similar look at your own wedding or event, talk to your florist to find someone local, or for the daring: check out this DIY tutorial by Dream, Create.  I also noticed several shops an Etsy that sell these luxe-bloom-backdrops!
